To reconcile reduction of smear and reduction of black floating.
A gamma setting part 9B reads and sets a normal standard gamma correction curve from a gamma storage part 9A when brightness (such as the whole average value, an average value of brightness at a predetermined part) of an object is not equal to or more than a predetermined value, reads and sets a gamma correction curve for black floating reduction from the gamma storage part 9A when the brightness is equal to or more than the predetermined value in moving image photography. A gamma correction processing part 9C performs gamma correction processing using the standard gamma correction curve when the brightness of the object is not equal to or more than the predetermined value, and meanwhile, performs the gamma correction and black floating reduction processing using the gamma correction curve for black floating reduction to which correction by shifting the black side of the standard gamma correction curve is performed when the brightness is equal to or more than the predetermined value.
