Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an athletic wheelchair for obtaining high stability in traveling in a straight line by not only reducing the weight of a front fork but also suppressing the floating or jumping-up of a front wheel and the generation of a vibration.SOLUTION: The athletic wheelchair includes: a pair of main wheels 5 arranged on both sides of a cage 4 having a sitting seat 6; and a handle 9 and the front wheel 3 arranged via the front fork 8 at the front end of a wheel body frame 2 extended to the front part of the cage 4. The front fork 8 includes: a column part 21 pivotably attached to the distal end of the vehicle body frame 2; a fork part 22 extending forward from the column part 21; and a stay part 23 arranged at the distal end of the fork part 22 so as to rotatably support the front wheel 3. The front fork 8 is constituted by allowing the weight of the stay part 23 to be heavier than those of the column part 21 and the fork part 22.
