Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently determine the profile of a tire so as to prevent water splash of the tire.SOLUTION: A constraint is determined for limiting at least one design variable of the position and shape of a protrusion provided on the side part of a tire for preventing water splash, within a predetermined range. A tire model that represents a tire having a protrusion on the side part is created under the above constraint. A road surface model that represents a road surface in contact with the tire and a water film model that represents a water film to be provided on the road surface and including a plurality of separable micro-models are created as well. The tire model is rolled on the road surface model with the water film provided thereon to simulate splash of the micro-models. A parameter indicative of a splash state of the micro-models is used as an objective function. When a value of the objective function falls within a predetermined range, a tire profile for preventing water splash is determined, on the basis of the profile of the tire model.
