To solve the problem of difficulty in displaying advanced information while maintaining the ease of display device operations.
First, hierarchical data is specified (S20). The hierarchical data specified may be one hierarchical data representing one image, or may be a set of a plurality of hierarchical data for which links are set. Next, an image to be displayed is designated using a frame definition parameter (S22). Further, an effect process used to display the image is designated as necessary (S24). If another image has been displayed before, a cross fade process or a process for enlarging the current image while contracting the previous image, for example, is designated. A complementing process for the current image and the next image before and during the time that display is shifted to the next image is designated (S26). Using a control format thus created, the images designated are continuously displayed as they are switched from one to another.
