Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera device for improving usability in a photographing standby state and to provide a through image display method.SOLUTION: A digital camera equipped with a best shot photographing function which can select a plurality of photographing modes different, for example, in photographing condition via a sample image includes a horizontally long display screen 9a whose aspect ratio is "3:6" is used as a liquid crystal monitor displaying a through image and a recorded image. In the photographing standby state, a regular through image G1 and a preview image G3 on which the photographing condition of the photographing mode selected by the best shot photographing function and the like is reflected are generated on the basis of a subject image photographed at a prescribed interval. The display screen 9a is divided into a maximum display region A having the aspect ratio of "3:4" and other regions B and C. The preview image G3 is displayed on the maximum display region A, and the through image G1 and the sample image G2 are displayed on the other regions B and C. An effect by the selected photographing mode can be checked in the photographing standby state.
