Abstract:
An air lubrication device (1) is mounted on a ship and reduces frictional resistance of water, to which the ship is subjected, by discharging air from the bottom of the ship. The air lubrication device (1) has at least three discharge opening groups (12-15) which are arranged in parallel in the widthwise direction of the ship. When a parallel discharge mode is selected, scavenging air is supplied to the discharge opening groups (13, 14) which are disposed on the inboard side of the ship, and air having increased pressure is supplied to the discharge opening groups (12, 15) disposed on the left and right outboard sides of the ship.
