Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power input control method for an arc furnace for steel manufacture which can adequately determine input electric energy required for one charge based on the mass balance and the heat balance between substances entering the arc furnace for steel manufacture and substances exiting the arc furnace for steel manufacture.SOLUTION: The component structure and mass of raw materials and the component structure and mass of the exiting substances are determined from the mass balance between the exiting substances and the entering substances to calculate the quantity of exiting heat QO of the arc furnace for steel manufacture 10, the quantity of heat Qb of the entering substances, and the quantity of heat Qo of oxidation reaction of excess substances which is determined from the difference between the component structure of the entering substances and the component structure of the exiting substances. Based on the heat balance between the entering substances and the exiting substances, QO-Qb-Qo is defined as the quantity of arc heat Qa to be supplied to the arc furnace for steel manufacture 10 for one charge. The input electric energy required for one charge is determined from the resulting quantity of arc heat Qa.
