PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus with a short release time lag in switching a mode related to a driving method for an image sensor and performing photographing.SOLUTION: When a still picture photographing trigger button 311 is pressed to thereby switch from a first mode (motion picture photographing mode) related to a driving method for an image sensor to a second mode (still picture photographing mode) related thereto and perform photographing, an imaging apparatus performs focus control in parallel with exposure control according to the photographing.
