To provide a visual axis detecting device or the like, which removes a burden on a user and detects an accurate visual axis direction from the center of a pupil and the center of a corneal curvature.
A visual axis controlling device includes: a camera 11 for imaging a direction of eye balls; a plurality of light sources for emitting light to the direction of the eye balls; a corneal curvature radius-calculating part 23 for calculating a corneal curvature radius based on a plurality of Purkinje images on a corneal surface acquired by the light emitted from the light source; a part 24 for calculating the center of a corneal curvature, which calculates the center of the corneal curvature based on the corneal curvature radius, a position of the camera 11, and the position of the light source 12; a part 25 for calculating the center of a pupil, which extracts a pupil region based on the presence and absence of the reflection of the light emitted from the light source and calculates the center of the pupil by an ellipse approximation; and a visual axis direction-determining part 26 for determining a vector passing through the center of the pupil and the center of the corneal curvature as the visual axis direction.
