Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for recovering a metal element containing a rare earth element that is feasible even at a small scale while eliminating a complicated control or operation, etc. in the separation and recovery of a metal element such as a rare earth element, or the like, from a rare-earth-based magnetic alloy material.SOLUTION: The method includes: dissolving, in a sulfuric acid solution heated to a prescribed temperature, sulfate as far as the sulfate can be melted in the predetermined temperature, the sulfate being a constituent element of magnet; supplying a rare-earth-based magnetic alloy material to the solution so that the rare-earth-based magnetic alloy material is reacted with sulfuric acid for dissolution; baking, after the sulfate that is a constituent element of magnet has been precipitated, the precipitated sulfate to turn the sulfate of iron into iron oxide; then, immersing the baked residue in water to dissolve the sulfate of other constituent elements of magnet; and separating and recovering, after separated from the iron oxide, the other constituent element of magnet from the obtained sulfate solution by extraction and/or deposition.
