Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel battery single cell which, when used in solid state oxide fuel batteries, restrains soot from sticking to the fuel electrode, thereby preventing a reduction in output power caused by the sticking of soot.SOLUTION: An air electrode and a fuel electrode are included across a solid electrolyte structure, the fuel electrode being coated with cobalt oxide. The solid oxide fuel battery single cell may be one in which the solid electrolyte structure is a multilayered structure having two or more of a solid electrolyte layer laminated one on top of another, and includes a porous layer of solid electrolyte on the fuel electrode side, the fuel electrode being formed also on inside surfaces of pores of the porous layer and the inside surfaces of pores where the fuel electrode is formed being coated with cobalt oxide also. In the case of such a construction, there is preferably 10-100 pts.mass of the coated cobalt oxide relative to 100 pts.mass of a fuel electrode material constituting the fuel electrode.
