Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton transporting material capable of forming a proton network from an anode to a cathode in a fuel cell, in particular, in a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell.SOLUTION: The proton transporting material is a sulfonic acid type liquid crystal polymer material and has at least a repeating unit expressed by general formula (1). In general formula (1), Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; A represents an alkylene group -CH-CH-, -CO-O(CH)- or -CO-; B represents an alkylene group; n represents an integer of 10 or more; m1 represents an integer of 1 or more; and X and Y each represent 0 or 1 and at least one of X and Y is 1.
