Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle sensor for restraining a physique from increasing.SOLUTION: A rotation angle sensor has a magnetoresistance effect element (10), in which a non-magnetic intermediate layer (14) is between a stationary layer (15), in which a magnetization direction is fixed, and a free layer (13), in which the magnetization direction varies according to an orientation of an external magnetic field generated by a detected object, and detects a rotation angle of the detected object based on a resistance value change of the magnetoresistance effect element (10). An area of the free layer (13) along a flat surface orthogonal to an opposing direction of the stationary layer (15) and the free layer (13) is larger than that of the stationary layer (15), and all parts of the stationary layer (15) and one part of the free layer (13) are opposed to each other via the intermediate layer (14).
