Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent useless codec conversion of codecs utilized by call originating and call incoming carriers.SOLUTION: In advance, a codec policy sets three categories: guaranteeing connectability; connecting only when codecs of call originating and call incoming carriers are the same; and not connecting. A SBC(SBC) on the call originating side offers codecs of guaranteeing connectability and connecting only when the codecs of the call originating and call incoming carriers are the same. A SBC(SBC) on call incoming side determines a relay codec by comparing the offer with a codec of a call incoming side network. In determining the codec; the SBC(SBC) on call incoming side sets a codec included in a category having higher priority according to the priority, and performs codec conversion when there is a difference between codecs in the offer and an answer.
