To provide a purifying method capable of efficiently removing metallic components preliminarily contained in a polysilane.

The purifying method of polysilane is carried out by bringing the polysilane containing the metallic components (1) (for example, polysilane containing ≥500 ppm metallic components (1)) into contact with a metallic component (2) constituted of a metal (b) (for example, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper or the like) having ionization tendency smaller than that of a metal (a) (for example, zinc or the like) constituting the metallic components (1). In such a method, the ratio of the metallic component (1) and the metallic component (2) expressed in terms of weight of the metal (a) and the metal (b) is ≤100 ppm per total quantity.
