Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter lump breaking mechanism for breaking lumps of foreign matters such as coins in a paper sheet transaction device.SOLUTION: A foreign matter lump breaking mechanism for braking foreign matters as a lump during conveyance in a foreign matter ejection device 10 installed in a paper sheet transaction device for conveying foreign matters input to an input port of paper sheets to an outlet includes: a belt 40 for loading and conveying the input foreign matters; a drive pulley 30 over which the belt is stretched, and disposed at one edge side of the conveyance direction of the belt; and a driven pulley 50 over which the belt is stretched, and disposed at the other edge side of the conveyance direction of the belt; displacement members 56 and 60 configured to displace the driven pulley in a direction crossing the conveyance direction of the belt in accordance with the rotation of the driven pulley; and a guide member 16 configured to guide the displacement of the driven pulley in the crossing direction by the displacement members. The belt is configured to convey the foreign matters while the driven pulley is displaced in a direction crossing the conveyance direction of the belt with the drive pulley as a support point.
