Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve opening and closing device for preventing termination of an engine cycle while opening of a valve is kept failed.SOLUTION: The device includes: starting calculation at a calculation start timing tcal; calculating a normal start-to-drive timing tmain and time width wmain, and an auxiliary start-to-drive timing tsub and time width wsub; output a valve opening pulse signal from the normal start-to-drive timing tmain to the normal time width wmain; and output an auxiliary valve opening pulse signal from the auxiliary start-to-drive timing tsub to the auxiliary time width wsub, when an actual lift amount does not reach a threshold S2.
