Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processing apparatus capable of certainly processing paper sheets to which address information of out-migrants are given, and a paper sheet processing method.SOLUTION: A sort device for performing sort processing of paper sheets, in which destination information including address information and destination person information is described, reads images of the paper sheets by a scanner, and performs character recognition of the destination information from the read images of the paper sheets. When the address information included in the destination information as a result of the character recognition coincides with address information on out-migrants included in migration information preliminarily registered in a database, it is determined whether or not destination persons of the paper sheets coincide with the out-migrants. When the paper sheets are determined to be addressed to the out-migrants, labels, in which the address information of migration destinations of the out-migrants is described, are pasted at a pasting position considering an entry region of the destination information in the paper sheets.
