PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of obtaining various moving images, and to provide an image data generation method.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an imaging unit 2 which images a subject and outputs image data of a moving image; a motion analyzing unit 3ca which analyzes the motion of the subject on the basis of image data 31a to 31e; an effect applying unit 3b which performs effect image processing of the image data according to the motion of the subject analyzed by the motion analyzing unit 3ca; and a recording unit 6 which records image data 33b to 33e subjected to effect image processing by the effect applying unit 3b.
