Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cogeneration device adapted to reliably start a self-sustained operation by appropriately controlling the behavior of an internal combustion engine, when a commercial electric power system fails.SOLUTION: The cogeneration device includes at least a power generation unit comprising a generator connectable to a feed line from a commercial electric power system to an electric load and an internal combustion engine for driving the generator. It is determined whether or not the commercial electric power system fails (S24); and when failure of the commercial electric power system is determined, the internal combustion engine is temporarily stopped (S36); subsequently, when a self-sustaining operation is started, a boosting power supply (DC/DC converter) is connected to a battery 23 to start the internal combustion engine (S38, S40). After the internal combustion engine is started, AC power supply from the generator to the electric load is started (S44).
