Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the positional relations of a plurality of devices in a network accurately in a short time while dispensing with manual work.SOLUTION: Network devices 2 each include a switch 22 which switches connection relations with a transmission line 1 to generate a discontinuous point of impedance. A position determination device 3 comprises: a switching instruction unit 332 which instructs one of the network devices 2 to switch the switch 22 to generate a discontinuous point for a certain period; a distance measurement unit 34 which, while the network device 2 keeps the switch 22 switched according to instructions from the switching instruction unit 332, measures the distance from the local device 3 to the network device 2 on the basis of a duration of time from when a signal was sent out to the transmission line 1 to when a reflection wave from the discontinuous point arrives; and a sequence determination unit 335 which determines the sequence of connections of each of the network devices 2 on the basis of the distance to each network device 2 measured by the distance measurement unit 34.
