To provide a dust core in a complicated shape which has superior magnetic characteristics, and a method of manufacturing the same.
Material powder containing magnetic powder is pressed to manufacture a stator core 23 in a shape configured such that a plurality of teeth 22 protrude from a stator yoke 21. This manufacturing method comprises two stages of pressing processes. In a first molding process, material powder for a component is charged into a component molding mold and press molded at predetermined pressing pressure to manufacture the component. In a second molding process, a plurality of components obtained in the first molding process are put into a dust core molding mold, and arranged at predetermined positions in the dust core molding mold so that the respective components form teeth 22. Material powder for a body is charged into the dust core molding mold and pressed molded at predetermined pressing pressure to obtain the stator core 23. At this time, the pressing pressure for press molding the components in the first molding process is higher than the pressing pressure for press molding the stator core 23 in the second molding process.
