Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger capable of starting charging a vehicle by applying a voltage to a charging connector only when the charging connector is connected to the vehicle.SOLUTION: The charger 10 includes: a charging cable 11 that supplies electric power from an AC power supply 17 as a charging power supply to a vehicle; a standardized charging connector 11B that is provided at one end of the charging cable 11; a connector detector 21 that detects the connection of the charging connector 11B with the vehicle as connector detection means; a relay 15 that controls energization from the AC power supply 17 to the vehicle as a switch; and a microcomputer 16 that inputs a detection signal from the connector detector 21 and on-off controls the relay 15 as a controller. The microcomputer 16 on-controls the relay 15 when a detection signal indicating that the charging connector 11B has been connected with the vehicle from the connector detector 21 is input.
