Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film electrode assembly for fuel battery use which enables the improvement of the durability of a fuel battery and the enhancement of the power generation performance thereof, and to provide a fuel battery having such a film electrode assembly for fuel battery use.SOLUTION: A film electrode assembly for fuel battery use comprises: an electrolytic film; a fuel electrode provided on one surface of the electrolytic film; and an oxidant electrode provided on the other surface of the electrolytic film. The oxidant electrode has an oxidant electrode catalyst layer including a first catalyst layer and a second catalyst layer which are laminated from the side of the electrolytic film in turn. The first catalyst layer includes core-shell catalyst particles each including a core particle containing at least one selected from palladium and a palladium alloy and an outermost layer covering the core particle and containing platinum. The second catalyst layer includes at least one kind of platinum catalyst particles selected from platinum particles and platinum alloy particles.
