Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator material having high piercing strength and high resistance to short-circuiting.SOLUTION: Core-sheath composite fibers (100) contain a first component (1) composed of a thermoplastic resin, and a second component (2) composed of a thermoplastic resin having a melting point after spinning higher than the melting point of the first component after spinning. In a cross section of each composite fiber along a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, the first component forms a sheath part constituting the whole surface of the fiber, and the second component forms a plurality of core parts, or one or more modified core parts. The separator material is obtained by manufacturing a fiber web by wet papermaking with slurry containing the core-sheath composite fibers (100), and applying a thermal bonding treatment and a thickness adjustment to the fiber web.
