Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "horizontal-stripe" fuel battery cell capable of preventing the generation of cracks in a dense dielectric covering a lateral end of a support substrate.SOLUTION: A fuel battery cell comprises: a "flat part" located at its center part; and a "pair of ends" expanded in a thickness direction and located on both sides in a width direction of the "flat part". A power generation element part A comprising an inner electrode, a solid electrolyte and an outer electrode is provided at each of a plurality of positions on the "flat part" of a flat plate-like porous support substrate 10. The inner electrode of one of the adjacent power generation element parts is electrically connected to the outer electrode of the other power generation element part. The "pair of ends" of the support substrate 10 is covered with a dense "dielectric" (solid electrolyte membrane 40). The following relationship holds true: 1.01≤T2/T1≤1.3, where "T1" and "T2" represent thicknesses of the fuel battery cell respectively corresponding to the "flat part" and each of the "end".
