Abstract:
A roll device (1) is provided with: a hollow roll body (2); a shaft body (4) inserted through the hollow section of the roll body (2) with a gap (3) therebetween; static-pressure gas bearing means (7, 8) disposed between the roll body (2) and the shaft body (4) so as to support the roll body (2) in the radial direction by static-pressure gas; and magnetic bearing means (9, 10) for supporting the roll body (2) in the thrust direction by the magnetic force.
