Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high reliability nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which prevents minute shorting with high accuracy, and a method for efficiently manufacturing electrodes which are used in the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.SOLUTION: An electrode manufacturing method according to the present invention includes a step of forming a binder solution layer 30 by applying a binder solution containing a binder 32 and a solvent 33 to an electrode current collector 12. It also includes a step of forming a composition layer 34 by applying a paste-like composition containing an electrode active material 36 and a solvent 37 to the binder solution layer 30. Here, the composition layer 34 is formed in such a way that a part 31 of the binder solution layer 30 formed on the lower layer side of the composition layer 34 protrudes outward from an end portion of the composition layer 34. Further, the binder solution layer 30 and the composition layer 34 both are dried to form an electrode active material layer, and the part 31 of the binder solution layer 30 protruding outward from the end portion of the composition layer 34 is also dried to form a protruded insulating layer.
