Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger for an electric vehicle which detects that a charging connector returns to a holding part.SOLUTION: A charger for an electric vehicle 1 includes: a charger body 2; a charging cable CB1; a holding part 3; and a control part 11. One end side of the charging cable CB1 is connected with the charger body 2 installed on an installation position, and a charging connector CN1, detachably connected with the electric vehicle, is provided at the other end side of the charging cable CB1. The holding part 3 holds the charging connector CN1 when charging is not conducted. The control part 11 is housed in the charger body 2, conducts communication with a power storage part of the electric vehicle through the charging cable CB1 and the charging connector CN1, and controls power supply to the power storage part according to signals of the power storage part. Further, the control part 11 conducts communication with the holding part 3 through the charging cable CB1 and the charging connector CN1 and thereby checking that the charging connector CN1 is held on the holding part 3.
