Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation system and a methane fermentation method which can stably suppress hydrogen sulfide inhibition without inhibiting the generation of methane, and can also decompose organic matter difficult to decompose.SOLUTION: A methane fermentation system 1 provided with a methane fermentation equipment 2 performing methane fermentation treatment of introduced organic waste water includes oxygen-saturated liquid introducing means 10 which introduces an oxygen-saturated liquid to the methane fermentation equipment 2. The methane fermentation equipment 2 comprises a microaerophilic acid generation part formed by oxygen introduced by using the oxygen-saturated liquid introducing means 10 and a methane fermentation part. Since the oxygen-saturated liquid has a definite and stable oxygen concentration, the oxygen concentration in the methane fermentation equipment can be stably maintained at a desired concentration by properly supplying oxygen depending on a level of hydrogen sulfide inhibition in methane fermentation. A process of acid generation generates a microaerophilic environment, so that the activity of acid generating bacteria can be enhanced.
