Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to efficiently learn words whose etymology is common.SOLUTION: An electronic dictionary 1 include a display part 40, a dictionary database with etymologies 821, an input part 30 for specifying a word stored in the dictionary database with etymologies 821, and a CPU 20. The CPU 20 extracts words including word component(s) whose etymology is the same as one of word components included in the specified word from words stored in the dictionary database with etymologies 821 as words having the same etymology and causes the display part 40 to perform a list display of the specified word and the words having the same etymology and an identification display of a word component commonly included in both the specified word and each word having the same etymology.
