Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a virtual folder creating operation effective which is carried out when files are virtually classified.SOLUTION: A system includes a function of storing a character string used for retrieval, a function of extracting a keyword included in meta data and its frequency, a function of extracting another keyword appearing in the same meta data as the keyword and its frequency, a function of extracting a character string included in a retrieval history and its frequency, and a function of creating a virtual folder based upon the respective extracted keywords and frequencies. When a keyword is extracted from the meta data, character strings considered as keywords are exhaustively extracted. Further, when a virtual folder is created, the folder has a hierarchical structure of at least two layers which are a virtual high folder and a virtual low folder. If a virtual low folder candidate having the same frequency is present when the virtual low folder is created, a candidate for a longer character string is adopted.
