Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the maintenance cost of a power storage device in a unit for supplying the discharge power of the power storage device, while boosting, to a load.SOLUTION: The auxiliary power unit for supplementing current shortage in electrification from a power supply to a load includes first and second power storage devices, a booster circuit for supplying discharge power from the first and second power storage devices, while boosting, to a load, and a control unit for switching charge/discharge of the first and second power storage devices. When the value of a current flowing to the load increases to a second threshold smaller than a first threshold, the control unit brings only one of the first and second power storage devices into discharge state, and brings the other power storage device into discharge state when the current value increases to the first threshold subsequently.
