Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing method, a sealed battery, and a sealing apparatus which make positioning between a blind revet and a sealing hole easy and prevent the blind rivet from being removed from a riveter even when the sealing hole is sealed while the interior of a battery container is decompressed.SOLUTION: A sealing method includes: a holding process where a riveter 21 chucks and holds a mandrel 32 of a blind rivet 31 with a first tensile force; an insertion process where a sleeve 33 of the blind rivet 31 held by the riveter 21 is inserted into a sealing hole 71a and a flange part 34 is placed in contact with a periphery of the sealing hole 71a; and a sealing process where the riveter 21 pulls out the mandrel 32 from the sleeve 33 with a second tensile force larger than the first tensile force and a tip of the sleeve 33 is plastically deformed so that a diameter of the tip expands thereby sealing the sealing hole 71a.
