Abstract:
Provided is a head maintenance device that can wipe out uncured ink and semi-cured ink adhered onto a nozzle face without leaving the ink on the nozzle face and does not damage a water repellent layer on the nozzle face. The head maintenance device has a wiping means for wiping the nozzle face provided with a plurality of nozzles that discharge ink of an inkjet head. The wiping means includes a wiping member made of a cloth, an elastic body, and a support in this order from the side in contact with the inkjet head. The cloth is moved in parallel to the nozzle face with the relative moving speed between RMV × 0.2 and RMV × 0.9 with respect to the nozzle face to wipe the nozzle face.
