Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to efficiently supply on an industrial scale a novel nitrogen-containing carbon compound which has a graphite structure. Provided is a nitrogen-containing carbon compound having a graphite structure, said compound containing 1-20 wt% inclusive of nitrogen and showing an interplanar spacing (d002), measured by powder X-ray diffractometry, of 3.40-4.00 Å inclusive. This nitrogen-containing carbon compound is produced by discharging electricity between carbon electrodes in a nitrogen-containing organic compound.
