PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square secondary battery which is reduced in contact resistance and improved in yield by decreasing the man-hour of assembly of the square secondary battery.SOLUTION: A square secondary battery includes: a power generation element which has electrodes; a battery can which houses the power generation element; a battery lid which seals an opening of the battery can; an external terminal which is arranged on the battery lid; and a current collector which connects the electrode of the power generation element and the external terminal to each other. The external terminal has a bus bar connection part to which a bus bar is connected and a current collector connection part to which the current collector is connected, and the bus bar connection part and the current collector connection part are united side by side on the battery lid. The current collector connection part has a cylindrical insertion part inserted into a through hole of the battery lid and a seal part which is provided at an outer periphery of the insertion part and presses a seal member for sealing between the through hole and the insertion part, and a bottom part which seals the through hole of the battery lid is provided inside the cylindrical insertion part. A tip of the insertion part is crimped to the current collector, the thickness of the bottom part is less than the thickness of the seal part, and annular first projection and an annular second projection are provided on the surface of the seal part against which the seal member is pressed.
