Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus capable of simply detecting reduction in cooling capacity for cooling a battery, and to provide a power supply apparatus including the cooling apparatus.SOLUTION: The cooling apparatus includes: an electric fan 15 which is driven by driving power and has an overcurrent protection function; a control device 20 for applying a rotational speed command value Rc to the electric fan 15; and a passage of gas circulated by the electric fan 15, to cool a battery by the gas flowing in the passage. The cooling apparatus includes a rotational speed sensor 26 for measuring an actual rotational speed of the electric fan 15 and outputting the measured result to the control device 20. The control device 20 includes a storage part for storing a protected rotational speed for actuating the overcurrent protection function of the electric fan 15 when pressure loss of the passage exceeds a reference value in accordance with a voltage value of the driving power, and when a rotational speed command value Rc higher than the protected rotational speed is applied to the electric fan 15, determines whether or not the pressure loss of the passage is larger the reference value on the basis of a difference between a rotational speed outputted from the rotational speed sensor 26 and the protected rotational speed.
