Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional display device that allows a picture of a projector array to be viewed consecutively as a high definition three-dimensional picture even when a viewer moves a point of view, decreases a discrepancy between convergence and adjustment relative to a three-dimensional picture localized in air and enables an interaction with the viewer.SOLUTION: The three-dimensional display device is configured to: project a picture from an exit pupil 41 of each projector of a projector array 4 by focusing on a diffusion plane 3; transmit a ray of light through the diffusion plane 3 and a real mirror picture imaging optical system 2 having a symmetry plane S internally and capable of imaging a ray of light from space on one side of the symmetry plane S at a plane symmetry position in space on the other side as a mirror picture; image the ray of light at the plane symmetry position of the exit pupil 41 relative to the symmetry plane S as diffused imaging pupils 6 and fill a pupil imaging plane 6S serving as a set of the imaging pupils 6; and thereby, allow an image 5 of a picture projected from the projector array 4 and imaged by the real mirror picture imaging optical system 2 to be consecutively viewed even by a point of view movement from a side where each imaging pupil 6 is imaged.
