Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a read-write error in an information recording medium.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a glass substrate for information recording medium includes steps of: forming a glass substrate 1G; grinding the glass substrate 1G with separated abrasive grains having an average primary particle diameter of less than 30 nm; and washing a surface of the glass substrate 1G with sponge brushes 110, 120 while supplying a cleaning fluid from the insides of the sponge brushes 110, 120, after the step of grinding. The absorption coefficient of each of the sponge brushes 110, 120 is 800% or more and 1200% or less. A supplied amount of the cleaning fluid from the sponge brushes 110, 120 is 2 ml/g min cmor more and 30 ml/g min cmor less for a unit mass, a unit time, and a unit area of the cleaned surface of the glass substrate 1G.
