Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater which can operate using power stored in a battery during a power failure.SOLUTION: A water heater 10 includes a hot water supply unit 15, a power supply unit 13 including a battery 11 and an inverter 12 for converting a DC power from the battery 11 to an AC power and outputting the resulting power the hot water supply unit 15, and an operation remote controller 16 for receiving power supply from the hot water supply unit 15 and holding a state that can transmit a command signal to the hot water supply unit 15 at normal time. The power supply unit 13 is provided with a monitoring circuit 23 to be connected to the operation remote controller 16 by a switch 25 at the start of a power failure and changed to a state that can receive the command signal from the operation remote controller 16. At power failure, when the monitoring circuit 23 receives a hot water supply start command signal from the operation remote controller 16, the monitoring circuit 23 restarts the stopped inverter 12 and starts the output of the AC power to the hot water supply unit 15, and the switch 25 connects the operation remote controller 16 to the hot water supply unit 15.
