Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistep supercharger capable of raising exhaust emission purifying efficiency while holding superior mountability.SOLUTION: A multistep supercharger of an internal combustion engine having a plurality of superchargers 16, 17 has a communication passage 40 connecting a high pressure step turbine chamber in which a turbine wheel of the high pressure step supercharger 16 is accommodated and a low pressure step turbine chamber in which a turbine wheel of the low pressure step supercharger 17 is accommodated, an outlet side exhaust passage 41 connecting the low pressure step turbine chamber and an exhaust emission control unit arranged in a downstream side more than the multistep supercharger, and a part of communication passage 40 is next to a part of the outlet side exhaust passage 41.
