Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine that performs a highly interesting game.SOLUTION: When executing a performance in which a time-varying image is displayed depending upon a game state, a game machine causes a first time-varying image decoder 154a or a second time-varying image decoder 154b to begin the reproduction (decoding) of the time-varying image prior to the timing of beginning the display of the time-varying image upon establishment of a predetermined condition. Until the predetermined condition is established, the game machine exerts control to write the pixel data of the frames of the reproduced time-varying image to a dummy area provided on VRAM 157. In this case, the pixel data of the other performance images generated by a drawing circuit 155 is written to a frame buffer on the VRAM 157 and displayed by a display circuit 158. When the predetermined condition is established, the game machine exerts control to write the pixel data of the decoded time-varying image to the frame buffer, thus beginning the display of the time-varying image without delay.
