Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding material for a slide member that is excellent in abrasion resistance and impact resistance; a production method of the same; and a slide member that is formed from the molding material for a slide member.SOLUTION: A molding material for a slide member includes a phenol resin, a boron compound, and a filler, wherein the filler includes an aramid fiber, and a solid lubricant. The boron compound preferably includes at least one selected from a group consisting of boric acid, zinc borate, and boron oxide, moreover the total content of a phenol monomer and a phenol dimer in the phenol resin is at most 10 mass%, and a variance ratio (Mw/Mn) of a weight average molecular weight (Mw) and a number average molecular weight (Mn) is preferably at least 1.1 and at most 3.0. Further, a ratio of the aramid fiber to the solid lubricant is preferably at least 1.09 and at most 20.00.
