Abstract:
This image processing apparatus causes a display unit (61) provided in the cabin of a vehicle to display a rearward-sideways video (40R) captured from the vehicle. The image processing apparatus is provided with: an image acquisition unit that acquires a rearward-sideways captured image; a distracting-region setting unit that sets a distracting region in the rearward-sideways video; a region-of-interest setting unit that sets, in the rearward-sideways video, a region of interest that is of interest to the driver of the vehicle; and an image composition unit that affixes an enlarged region-of-interest image (45) to the distracting region in the captured image and outputs the result to the display unit.
