Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately execute air-fuel ratio sensor failure determination.SOLUTION: If rich peak timing and lean peak timing of an exhaust gas air-fuel ratio detected during implementation of an active pulse fall in a range within ±90degCA with respect to a predetermined central value, and an exhaust air-fuel ratio amplitude (A/F amplitude) detected during implementation of the active pulse is equal to or higher than a predetermined amplitude determination threshold, a control unit determines that a first air-fuel ratio sensor is normal. If any of the rich peak timing and the lean peak timing is out of the range within ±90degCA with respect to the predetermined central value or the A/F amplitude is lower than the predetermined amplitude determination threshold, the control unit determines that the first air-fuel ratio sensor is abnormal.
