Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image in which unevenness in brightness due to the effect of meniscus is suppressed.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: imaging means 134 that holds a sample container D for supporting a sample obtained by injecting a liquid into a recess with a flat bottom so that the bottom of the recess is horizontal, and images the sample; and an observation optical system 130 that directs light passing through the bottom of the recess into the imaging means 134, which are integrally moved in a direction parallel to the recess bottom with respect to the sample container D, thereby positioning the imaging means 134 with respect to the recess. Illumination light is directed from above the sample container D, and the light passing through the bottom is directed into the imaging means 134 by the observation optical system 130, whereby the sample is imaged. The observation optical system 130 has an objective lens 131, an aperture diaphragm 132, and a diaphragm position changing unit 145 for moving the aperture diaphragm 132 in an optical axis direction of the objective lens 131, the position of the aperture diaphragm 132 being changed by the diaphragm position changing unit 145 in accordance with the relative positions of the imaging means 134 and the sample container D.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
