Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with conventional time-division parallax barriers that a blink or a saccade would invite flickering of the screen by using a slit composed of four-color color filters or a stripe-patterned backlight in a rear-type parallax barrier.SOLUTION: Three-dimensional display images shown in three or more presented colors and fusing with one another are presented to right and left eyes in predetermined order on a time division basis. The presented colors vary periodically, and the time series for the right and left eyes are the same period differing in phase. Image display means has arrangement in which the presented colors are sequentially aligned, and the presented colors are shifted rightward or leftward as seen by the viewing person as light which has been transmitted by color filters selectively transmitting the presented colors. The moire effect is restrained with a diffuser sheet, and color noise is prevented with a condensing lens. Further, color breaking is prevented by varying the width of the stripe-patterned presented-color area of a backlight panel according to the viewing person's position.
