PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device capable of reducing the amount of power consumption in radio communication involving a plurality of layers.SOLUTION: A radio communication unit 11 is a component to carry out radio communication at one or more layers. A communication method control unit 12 is a component to reduce the number of layers when a prescribed first condition indicating being possible to reduce the number of layers is satisfied. A radio communication device 10 reduces the number of layers when the prescribed first condition indicating being possible to reduce the number of layers is satisfied.
