PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve control over switching between a display state and a non-display state.SOLUTION: Portable electronic equipment 1 according to one aspect comprises a display section 2, a photographing section 12, a storage section 9, an acceleration sensor 15 and a control section 10. The photographing section 12 is capable of taking an image. The acceleration sensor 15 is capable of measuring acceleration and angular acceleration. The control section 10 causes the photographing section 12 to take a first image when given predetermined acceleration and angular acceleration. The control section 10 compares the first image taken in the non-display state of the display section 2 with a second image indicating a user face previously stored in the storage section 9, and switches the display section 2 from the non-display state to the display state if there is a common point between the first image and the second image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
